James Rodriguez leaves Colombia squad ahead of Uruguay game

James Rodriguez will miss Colombia's World Cup qualifier against Uruguay due to a calf injury, the Colombian Football Federation have announced.

Rodriguez, 25, missed the 1-0 win against Paraguay on Thursday but Colombia coach Nestor Pekerman was hopeful of the Real Madrid man returning for Tuesday's game.

He suffered a calf strain in the warmup before Real's home draw with Eibar at the weekend but has travelled to join the national squad.

However, he has now returned to Spain to continue his rehabilitation.

Colombia are currently in the CONMEBOL's final automatic qualifying position for the 2018 World Cup and three points behind leaders Uruguay.
