Ferjani Sassi signs three-year deal with SC Zamalek

Ferjani Sassi has completed a move to SC Zamalek from Saudi Arabia's Al-Nassr FC, putting pen to paper with the Egyptian giants on Thursday.

The defensive midfielder joins the White Knights on a three-year deal after representing Tunisia at the World Cup, according to a statement on the Zamalek website.

He began his career with CS Sfaxien in 2010 and represented Tunisia at the 2015 and 2017 African Cup of Nations tournaments.

The 26-year-old also moved to FC Metz in 2015, but didn't stay in France...

Zamalek appoint Christian Gross as new coach

Zamalek have finally the announced the appointment of Christian Gross as their new head coach.

The former Tottenham Hotspur and Switzerland coach looked to be on the verge of joining back in April before the deal appeared to fall through, but he has now penned a one-year contract.

"I want to thank Zamalek board to give me the chance to coaching this team," said Gross, who has spent the last four years at Saudi Arabian club Al-Ahli.

SC Zamalek suffered a surprise defeat away in Ethiopia but fellow CAF Confederation Cup favourites Enyimba and USM Alger enjoyed better fortunes away in Wednesday's First Round first-leg ties.
