Champions League qualifying draw: Fenerbahce land Shakhtar

Turkish side Fenerbahce landed Ukrainian team Shakhtar Donetsk as Robin van Persie and Nani face a tough test if they are to set up a possible reunion with Manchester United in the Champions League playoffs.

Meanwhile, Celtic face a trip to Azerbaijan or Montenegro in the next round of Champions League qualifying....

Man United learn possible Champions League playoff opponents

Manchester United could face a tricky Champions League playoff against the likes of CSKA Moscow, Lazio, Monaco or Sporting Lisbon in August.

The 15 teams which take part in the non-champions half of the qualifying draw are now known after Lazio held off the challenge of Rafael Benitez led Napoli to hold on to third place in Serie A.

Manchester United, ranked 10th by UEFA, will be the top seeded club in the final qualifying round -- joined by Valencia, Bayer Leverkusen, Shakhtar Donetsk and Ajax....

Darron Gibson can be influential for Everton after stop-start season

The latest instalment of this most puzzling of seasons led to a 3-1 win and 7-2 aggregate against Young Boys for an Everton side advancing to the last 16 of the Europa League as the sole British representative left in the competition.

Roberto Martinez heaps praise on Romelu Lukaku after European win

Everton boss Roberto Martinez was full of praise for "natural finisher" Romelu Lukaku after the striker notched two more goals against Young Boys as the Toffees sealed their place in the Europa League last 16.

Lukaku went into the round of 32 second leg against the Swiss outfit at Goodison Park having already notched three times in Everton's 4-1 win over them last Thursday in Bern.
