Wolves goalkeeper Aaron McCarey hit with four-month ban for drugs

Wolves keeper Aaron McCarey has also been fined by the FA.

Wolves goalkeeper Aaron McCarey has been suspended for four months by the Football Association after failing an out-of-competition drug test.

McCarey was suspended by the Sky Bet Championship club in May after testing positive for a non-performance enhancing substance.

Following the conclusion of an FA hearing this week, the sanction has been backdated to April 21 -- the date of the original suspension -- with the remaining time suspended for a two-year period.

Nouha Dicko has been attracting attention.

Everton are tracking Wolves striker Nouha Dicko as manager Roberto Martinez looks to add to his attacking options this summer, sources have told ESPN FC.

Dicko, 23, helped Wolves win promotion back to the Championship in his first season at the club and he finished as the club's joint-top scorer last season with 15 goals.

He is entering the final year of his contract at Molineux, with the club determined to try and keep him as they plan to mount another bid for promotion to the Premier League...

Sheffield United's Jose Baxter and Wolves' Aaron McCarey fail drugs tests

Jose Baxter has been suspended by Sheffield United after failing a drugs test.

Sheffield United midfielder Jose Baxter and Wolverhampton goalkeeper Aaron McCarey have both failed drugs tests and been placed under suspension, their clubs have announced.

A statement from Sheffield United on Saturday evening announced that "traces of a banned substance" were found when Baxter underwent Football Association testing.

Wolves said McCarey had failed a test for "a non-performance enhancing substance."

Both players protested their innocence, their clubs said.
