Bakary Sako inspired Wolves to a 3-0 win over Fulham as Kenny Jackett's side kept their promotion hopes alive.

The forward's brace added to Danny Batth's early opener but a three-goal half-time lead flattered the hosts.

Fulham were slicker but were made to pay when Ross McCormack missed their best chance with the score at 1-0.

Wolves comfortably held on in the second half after the fight had left the visitors to stay five points adrift of the Sky Bet Championship play-offs.

The hosts made one change...

Benik Afobe continued his impressive run of form in front of goal as Wolves boosted their promotion hopes with a thumping 5-0 Skybet Championship win against relegation-threatened Rotherham United at Molineux.

Afobe opened the scoring in the 21st minute and grabbed a second after 63 to take his tally to five in seven games following last month's B£2m move from Arsenal - adding to the 19 he scored while on loan at MK Dons earlier in the season.

Nouha Dicko had scored his 10th goal of the season in the...

Colorado Rapids turned down Diego Forlan but remain coy on Kevin Doyle

Diego Forlan's contract with Cerezo Osaka is due to expire in the summer.

Colorado Rapids claim to have rejected the chance to sign Cerezo Osaka striker Diego Forlan but are refusing to rule out a move for Wolves forward Kevin Doyle.

Forlan, who joined Cerezo last January, is out of contract in the summer when his deal with the Japanese club expires.

Paul Bravo, the vice president of soccer operations and technical director of the Rapids, has revealed that the Major League Soccer side were offered the former Uruguay captain but turned down the chance to sign him.

"He...

Norwich's promotion challenge continued to gather pace as they downed Wolves 2-0 at Carrow Road to make it three straight wins in the Sky Bet Championship.

Goals in either half from Bradley Johnson and Lewis Grabban earned the Canaries a deserved success as the side immediately below them in the table offered no real threat all afternoon.

In contrast, Alex Neil's in-form side are now back in the top six for the first time in 2015 and appear to have all the ingredients necessary to stay there - and...

Nouha Dicko scored a brace as Wolves got their Championship play-off bid back on track and ended an 18-year hoodoo with a clinical 4-1 victory at Huddersfield.

The Wanderers had lost their last seven meetings with Huddersfield - including a 3-1 defeat at Molineux in October - but never looked back after Dicko's 12th-minute opener, his eighth goal of the season.

It was a frustrating night for a Huddersfield outfit that created the better chances, with Conor Coady's own goal at the start of the second...
