Wolves and Paul Lambert part company after seven months

Paul Lambert replaced Walter Zenga as Wolves manager in November 2016.

Wolves head coach Paul Lambert has left the club after just seven months in charge.

Lambert leaves after the club after leading them to a 15th-placed finish with Nuno Espirito Santo, who recently left his role at Porto, reportedly lined up to take over.

The 47-year-old will be the third head coach relieved of his duties by owners Fosun since they bought the club last July.

Lambert had only joined in November but was unhappy at Wolves' stance on new signings with super agent Jorge Mendes, a close...

Liverpool's Harry Wilson targeted by Celtic and Wolves - sources

Harry Wilson has made one senior appearance for Liverpool.

Liverpool youngster Harry Wilson is attracting interest from Celtic and Wolverhampton Wanderers, sources close to the player have told ESPN FC.

Wilson has come through the ranks at Liverpool and he made his first-team debut this season in the FA Cup replay win over Plymouth in January.

The 20-year-old is highly regarded at Anfield and is the captain of the club's under-23s side and he became Wales' youngest ever player when he was capped against Belgium in 2013 at the age of 16 years and 207 days.

Gary McAllister says Liverpool have worked hard and deserve their spot in next year's Champions League.

Wolves captain Danny Batth's early strike secured a 1-0 Sky Bet Championship victory against Preston at Molineux.

Central defender Batth struck in the second minute as Wolves picked up only their eighth home win of the season.

Preston were caught cold by Batth's close-range header as their campaign ended in disappointing fashion. They lost five of their last six games, taking a solitary point from the 18 on offer.

Wolves made the perfect start when a run into the area from Jordan Graham forced the visitors...

Derby signed off on their home Sky Bet Championship campaign with a comfortable 3-1 victory over a disappointing Wolves side who had Ivan Cavaleiro sent off in the first half.

David Nugent and Bradley Johnson put Derby in control before Cavaleiro was shown a straight red and although Ben Marshall replied, Derby's superiority was underlined by Craig Bryson 12 minutes into the second half.

With nothing riding on the result, Derby made five changes while Wolves made eight which showed as the home side...
