Steve Corica believes the league has made the right decision in order to officially conclude the league.

Western United are throwing their support behind their A-League captain Alessandro Diamanti as he deals with the news of the coronavirus pandemic's heavy toll in his home country Italy.

Former Italy international Diamanti hails from Prato in Tuscany, a few hundred kilometres south of the virus epicentre Lombardy.

Italy has become the country worst affected by the pandemic, announcing 793 more deaths on Saturday, taking the total number to 4,825.
