Wales' Tom Bradshaw suffers injury ahead of European Championship

Wales football manager Chris Coleman announced a two year contract extension ahead of his national side's first major tournament appearance since 1958.

Walsall striker Tom Bradshaw's hopes of making Wales' Euro 2016 squad have suffered a major blow after he was forced to leave their training camp with a calf injury.

The 23-year-old, who made his debut against Ukraine in March, will leave their base at the Vale do Lobo resort in Portugal on Thursday, the Football Association...

Barnsley will return to Wembley for the second time this season to contest the Sky Bet League One play-off final after overcoming Walsall 6-1 on aggregate.

The Tykes, Johnstone's Paint Trophy winners at the national stadium just last month, had a comfortable 3-0 lead from the first leg in Yorkshire on Saturday but they did not rest on their laurels at the Banks's Stadium and had chances to extend their overall advantage before Adam Hammill did so after 18 minutes.

The chances continued to come for...

Sam Winnall's double helped keep Barnsley on course for a return trip to Wembley as a 3-0 first-leg win against Walsall gave them a big advantage in their Sky Bet League One play-off semi-final.

Barnsley lifted the Johnstone's Paint Trophy in the capital at the start of April and are big favourites to head back there on May 28 after Jason Demetriou's first-half own goal and two from Winnall in the second period left Walsall with it all to do.

Both sides were unchanged from the last day of the regular...

A brilliant performance by Walsall failed to secure automatic promotion - but the Saddlers will go into the Sky Bet League One play-offs in great heart after a thumping 5-0 victory at Port Vale.

A terrific opening spell saw chances at both ends before the visitors took a grip of proceedings with two goals in three minutes.

Walsall right-back Jason Demetriou rattled the crossbar with a 35-yard shot moments before Paul Downing opened the scoring in the 23rd minute.

Vale goalkeeper Jak Alnwick made a fine...

Walsall kept alive their hopes of automatic promotion to the Championship at the Banks's Stadium with a comfortable 3-1 win over Fleetwood, who still need a point from their last game to ensure they avoid relegation.

The Saddlers were never in any doubt of winning this one, but could regret conceding a late goal to Devante Cole if it comes down to goal difference with rivals Burton.

Walsall made a blistering start and were two ahead by the 18th minute, top-scorer Tom Bradshaw notching his 19th of the...
