ESPN FC's Steve Nicol feels that Roberto Soldado has been Tottenham's worst signing, following Harry Redknapp's statements that Spurs have been a "major disappointment" since he left.

Villarreal coach Marcelino has confirmed his interest in signing Tottenham striker Roberto Soldado.

Soldado, 30, has scored just seven times in 51 appearances since moving to north London from Valencia two years ago, and Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is thought to be willing to let him go.

Mexico star Giovani dos Santos has joined the Major League Soccer side LA Galaxy from Villarreal, according to various media reports.

The LA Times says that a Galaxy official has confirmed the deal, with the reigning MLS Cup champions set to pay a $7 million transfer fee for the 26-year-old.

Giovani Dos Santos will complete the Gold Cup before planning his future.

PHOENIX -- Mexico international Giovani Dos Santos has been linked all summer with a move to MLS outfit LA Galaxy, but despite a report on Saturday that said a deal was set in stone, Mexico coach Miguel Herrera had nothing concrete to report on the striker's future.

"We had a chat and he's not confirmed anything definitive [about his future]," Herrera said in Saturday's news conference, ahead of Sunday's Gold Cup match against Guatemala.
