Wolfsburg's Luiz Gustavo 'shocked' by his reaction to red card vs. Bayern

Luiz Gustavo had to be restrained by teammates after his red card.

Wolfsburg midfielder Luiz Gustavo has said he was "shocked" when he saw images of himself being held back by teammates after he was sent off against Bayern Munich on Saturday.

The 29-year-old was sent off for two bookings as Wolfsburg were crushed 6-0 by his former club and was been fined €15,000 by the German FA (DFB) for his angry reaction.

Luiz Gustavo said he regretted those protests to referee Felix Zwayer and added: "Sadly, this was a moment when I couldn't control myself."

Gustavo, 29, received his marching orders from referee Felix Zwayer 12 minutes from time after picking up a second yellow card for fouling Renato Sanches.

Gustavo then lost his cool, sarcastically applauded the referee and had to be stopped by his teammates and former Bayern...

Borja Mayoral has said that Wolfsburg want to extend his loan deal despite the striker having not played as much as he had anticipated after leaving parent club Real Madrid last summer.

Mayoral, 20, has made just three Bundesliga starts for Wolfsburg since his arrival -- coming off the bench 15 times -- while scoring only two goals for the club, who are 13th in the standings and just one point clear of the drop zone.

Speaking to ES Radio, the Spain under-21 international, under contract with Madrid...
