Ron-Robert Zieler signs three-year deal with Stuttgart after Leicester transfer

Ron-Robert Zieler, centre, is joining Stuttgart from Leicester City ahead of the 2017-18 season.

Leicester have announced the permanent transfer of goalkeeper Ron-Robert Zieler to Stuttgart.

Zieler has penned a three-year deal with the newly promoted Bundesliga side.

The 28-year-old German moved to Leicester from Hannover last summer, making 13 appearances for the Foxes, including in the Champions League win over Brugge and a 4-2 Premier League victory over Manchester City.

A statement on Leicester's website added: "He departs with the thanks and best wishes of everyone at Leicester City."

Alexandru Maxim has moved from Stuttgart to Mainz.

Mainz have signed Romania international Alexandru Maxim from Bundesliga new boys Stuttgart on a four-year deal.

The 26-year-old midfielder played 131 times for Stuttgart after joining the club in 2013.

Maxim told Mainz's official website: "I'm looking forward to pulling on the Mainz 05 shirt and I'm convinced that I've made the best possible decision."

Arsenal have confirmed that forward Takuma Asano will spend a second season on loan at German club Stuttgart.

Stuttgart's sporting director said earlier this week that Japan international Asano, who is yet to earn a work permit to play in the Premier League, would remain with the Bundesliga club.

Stuttgart to become closed stock company and gain new investment

Stuttgart members have voted in favour of turning the club's professional football branch into a closed stock company.

The move -- backed by 84.2 percent of voters -- allows the club to bring in new investors, with German car manufacturer Daimler set to take over 11.75 percent of the newly formed company for €41.5 million.
