Pachuca's decisive Week 1 win puts it top of Liga MX Power Rankings

Cruz Azul shared points with newly promoted Necaxa in their first Apertura game.

Tijuana's Dayro Moreno and Pachuca's Hirving Lozano finished the first week on top of the goal-scoring table with two goals each. The weekend left behind two scoreless draws and three 2-0 wins.

Chivas secure statement win over Veracruz in the Supercopa MX

Matias Almeyda has assembled a Chivas side capable of challenging for silverware.

LOS ANGELES -- Chivas will represent the Liga MX in next season's Copa Libertadores after defeating Veracruz 2-0 in the Supercopa MX on Sunday at StubHub Center, while Tigres defeated Pachuca 1-0 in the Campeon de Campeones tie in front of 27,167 fans at the same venue.

The double-header was a curtain-raiser for the Liga MX Apertura 2016, which starts next weekend.
