NYCFC returns to winning ways as Jordan Morris lifts Sounders to victory

New York City FC defeated the Vancouver Whitecaps FC in an interesting matchup between East and West.

David Villa scored twice as New York City FC won its first game since the season opener, 3-2 over the Vancouver Whitecaps at Yankee Stadium on Saturday.

Vancouver took the lead after just 37 seconds as Octavio Rivero pounced on a loose ball following a gaffe by NYCFC keeper Josh Saunders.

But Villa found the net twice in a six-minute span, including with a remarkable scissor kick to give the home side the lead in the 41st minute.

Montreal Impact levels late vs. NYCFC; Portland, New England draw as well

Dominic Oduro scored in the opening seconds of stoppage time and the Montreal Impact escaped with a 1-1 draw against New York City FC on Wednesday night.

Montreal earned a free kick along the right sideline in the 90th minute and Didier Drogba sent the ball into the box. Two Impact players broke free, with Oduro getting his head on the ball and sending it just inside the post for his third goal.

New York City took the lead in the 51st minute on a great buildup that led to RJ Allen's first goal....

Gio dos Santos, Steven Gerrard help Galaxy rout RSL; Union beat NYCFC

Emmanuel Boateng had a goal and two assists and the LA Galaxy beat Real Salt Lake 5-2.

Giovani dos Santos and Steven Gerrard scored to highlight the LA Galaxy's 5-2 win over Real Salt Lake on Saturday night.

RSL keeper Nick Rimando, making his 400th MLS start, saved Gerrard's penalty in the sixth minute and Juan Manuel Martinez gave the Utah club the early lead on a header 10 minutes later.

But Gyasi Zardes tied it for LA with a right-footed blast in the 19th minute and Mike Magee smashed in Emmanuel Boateng's cross for the go-ahead goal in the 26th.

Ignacio Piatti's late winner lifts Impact as Columbus Crew SC earns first win

Montreal Impact with Drogba in tow head to a Chicago Fire side looking to stretch a 4 match unbeaten streak.

Ignacio Piatti completed the Montreal Impact's comeback with a stoppage-time winner from distance in a 2-1 victory at the Chicago Fire on Saturday.

Kennedy Igboananike opened the scoring for Chicago in the 29th minute with a fine curling effort from the side of the 18-yard box.

But Montreal were back level in the second half as Didier Drogba, who came on as a substitute minutes earlier, scored his first goal of the season with a backheeled finish.

Chicago went close to taking the lead again...

Columbus Crew SC stay winless with loss to Montreal as D.C. United cruises

Montreal Impact put two headed goals past Columbus goalkeeper Steve Clark en route to a 2-0 home win.

Hassoun Camara scored his first goal of the season to help the Montreal Impact beat winless Columbus Crew SC 2-0 on Saturday.

Camara scored with a header following Lucas Ontivero's corner kick in the 48th minute.

Kyle Bekker added a goal in the 86th minute for Montreal, whille and Eve Bush made one save for his second clean sheet of the season.

Columbus has scored just three goals in its first five games and was shut out for the second time.
