Valencia captain Dani Parejo has said he declined the option of leaving the struggling La Liga side last month.

Last month, Superdeporte reported that Valencia were willing to sell the midfielder and planned to use the funds to buy new players.

Reports in Spain claimed Sevilla had rekindled their interest in signing Parejo, who has scored three goals and set up five more in 20 league starts.

Barcelona put six goals past Alaves while Real Madrid edge Osasuna

Herculez Gomez and Sebastian Salazar reflect as Barcelona kept the pressure on Real Madrid with a 6-0 drubbing of Alaves.

Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi ran riot as Barcelona fired in four goals in nine second-half minutes on their way to a 6-0 thumping of Alaves on Saturday.

Suarez put Barca ahead on 37 minutes after good work from Aleix Vidal, and Neymar added a second three minutes later, tapping home after some poor defending from the home side.

Alaves remained in the game until Messi added a third just before the hour mark. The floodgates then opened, and Barca added three more in quick succession.

Valencia owner Peter Lim did not renew the club ambassador contract of Mario Kempes.

Former Argentina great Mario Kempes will not stop supporting his old club Valencia despite the outfit's decision not to renew his contract as an international ambassador.

Kempes announced on his Twitter account that he had been notified that he was no longer a Valencia CF ambassador, a role he had been given in September 2013 and which had expired on December 2016.

Chile international Fabian Orellana has moved to Valencia.

Valencia have signed Chile international Fabian Orellana on loan from Celta Vigo for the remainder of the season, although the deal could become permanent this summer.

A club statement read: "Fabian Orellana passed a medical and has signed a new contract. According to the agreement reached with Celta Vigo, the player arrives on loan until the end of the season with a buy-option, which if done, would extend his link to the club until June 30, 2019."
