Dimitri Petratos made eight appearances for Ulsan during his six-month stint.

A-League side Newcastle have recruited former Brisbane Roar midfielder Dimitri Petratos for the second time in six months.

However, the 24-year-old played just eight games for Ulsan before the two parties agreed to terminate his contract.

Hulk powers Shanghai SIPG to ACL R16 win over Jiangsu Suning

ESPN FC's Jason Dasey and Dez Corkhill recap all the AFC Champions League round of 16 action.

Hulk was the difference as Shanghai SIPG came back a goal behind to claim a narrow advantage with a 2-1 first leg win in their all-Chinese Super League (CSL) meeting with Jiangsu Suning in the AFC Champions League (ACL) on Wednesday evening.

The burly Brazilian scored from the penalty spot and set up Odil Ahmedov to score the winner. That was after Roger Martinez had given Jiangsu an early lead on a day that also saw former champions Urawa Red Diamonds lose 2-0 to South Korea's Jeju United.

Jamie Maclaren and Brandon Borrello combined for one last stand as Brisbane Roar fell to a 3-2 defeat against Ulsan Hyundai.

Departing forwards Jamie Maclaren and Brandon Borrello combined for one last stand as Brisbane Roar slumped to a 3-2 home defeat to Ulsan Hyundai in their farewell match for the club.

A potent attacking partnership for the Roar over the last two seasons, the pair created two first-half goals in the AFC Champions League dead rubber on Wednesday night at Suncorp Stadium. Maclaren scored in the 18th and 37th minutes with the lively Borrello providing the final pass on each occasion.
