Giuseppe Iachini takes over as manager of Udinese

Giuseppe Iachini is the new manager of Udinese.

Underachieving Udinese have appointed Giuseppe Iachini as their new head coach on a two-year deal.

The 52-year-old was most recently in charge of Palermo, who on Sunday finished 17th in Serie A -- just one place below Udinese -- after going through seven different managers in one season.

Udinese employed only two bosses, Stefano Colantuono and Luigi De Canio, but endured a similarly fraught campaign and have now opted to start afresh with a view to climbing the table in 2016-17.

Udinese's Piotr Zielinski close to move amid Liverpool speculation

Piotr Zielinski has impressed on loan at Empoli this season.

Liverpool target Piotr Zielinski is close to agreeing a transfer to an unspecified club, his representatives have said.

Udinese midfielder Zielinski, 21, has scored five goals in 35 Serie A appearances during a loan spell with Empoli this season and the Poland international said last month that Liverpool had expressed an interest.

"There is a lot of truth in the Liverpool rumours," Zielinski told Sportowe Fakty back in April. "Jurgen Klopp is interested in me, and we have talked a few times."

Antonio Di Natale says he will make up his mind about his future after going on holiday with his family, having played his final game for Udinese on Sunday.

The 38-year-old marked his final appearance for the Serie A club with a goal in their 2-1 defeat to Carpi, and admitted afterwards that he is likely to hang up his boots this summer since he cannot see himself playing for any other club.

Whether he will return from his holidays to Udine and take on another role within the club is yet to be decided,...
