Despite beating Cruz Azul 2-0 on Saturday, Leones Negros coach Alfonso Sosa could not save the club from relegation.

Leones Negros have been relegated from Mexico's first division, less than one year after winning promotion from the Ascenso MX.

The team from the Universidad de Guadalajara defeated Cruz Azul 2-0 on Saturday in Mexico City in the last round of regular season matches in the Clausura 2015, but relegation rival Puebla earned the point it needed to guarantee survival in a 2-2 draw away against Santos Laguna. Yes, even the most casual fan of the league will know Chivas are in trouble. Arguably the biggest team in the country, the side from Guadalajara is currently duking it out with Leones Negros and Puebla to avoid relegation to the second division, which is notoriously difficult to get out of.

After nine rounds of matches in the current season, Leones Negros is in last...
