Former 1860 Munich midfielder Stefan Aigner joins the Colorado Rapids

The Colorado Rapids have completed the signing of German midfielder Stefan Aigner pending the finalization of a medical, a league source has told ESPN FC. The source indicated that Aigner has signed a three-and-a-half year deal.

The addition of Aigner, 29, is contingent on receipt of his ITC and a P-1 visa.

1860 Munich fans will return to the Grunwalder Stadium for fourth-tier football this season.

Fourth-tier side 1860 Munich are charging more for an adult standing season ticket than Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.

1860, the first Munich side ever to win the Bundesliga in 1966, were relegated from the second-tier in May and immediately dropped down another level after failing to transfer about €5 million to the German Football Federation (DFB) for a third division licence.

Bayern Munich cancel Allianz Arena contract with 1860 Munich

1860 Munich will play the 2017-18 season in the fourth tier of German football.

Bayern Munich have cancelled the contract with former Bundesliga champions TSV 1860 Munich at their Allianz Arena stadium.

The cancellation follows talks between 1860's managing director Markus Fauser, and Jan-Christian Dreesen, Bayern's finance director and vice chairperson.

"The agreement precludes 1860 from returning to the Allianz Arena at a later date," Bayern announced in a statement.

Former Bayern Munich striker Ivica Olic announces retirement

Ivica Olic, shown here playing for 1860 Munich, has announced he is retiring from professional football.

Ivica Olic is calling time on his career, after announcing he is retiring from professional football.

Olic, 37, started out at Marsonia in his home country of Croatia, before moving to CSKA Moscow and then playing for Hamburg, Bayern Munich, Wolfsburg and finally 1860 Munich in the Bundesliga. He also made 104 appearances for the Croatian national team, scoring 20 goals.

"I'm ready to hang up my boots," Olic told German newspaper Bild. "I think I can leave football with a clear conscience.

Former Bundesliga club 1860 Munich face an uncertain future after failing to secure a license to play in the third tier next season.
