Troyes takeover by American investor 'not moving' - president Daniel Masoni

Troyes, relegated from Ligue 1 last season, hope a deal can still be done by September.

American investor Gary Allen has not completed his proposed takeover of Troyes, the president of the French second division club has said.

In June it was announced that Allen, who owns National Premier Soccer League club Spartans FC in Portland, would soon take control of Troyes, who were relegated from Ligue 1 last season.

But there has been little talk of the deal since, and Troyes president Daniel Masoni confirmed it had been held up.

"Nothing is moving," he told L'Equipe. "We're still waiting...

Spartans owner Gary Allen close to takeover of French Ligue 2 club Troyes

Troyes were relegated from Ligue 1 last season but are set for a financial boost with the impending takeover.

French second-tier side Troyes are set for a takeover by American investor Gary Allen.

Troyes president and majority shareholder Daniel Masoni revealed on Monday that he would soon hand control of the club to Allen, 45, the owner of National Premier Soccer League club Spartans FC in Portland.

"For several weeks, through an intermediary of Gary Allen, a project has materialised for the handover of 100 percent of the club," Masoni said at a news conference.

Masoni hopes the takeover can be completed...

Troyes managed to gain a point in their final Ligue 1 match before relegation with a 1-1 home draw with Marseille.

The hosts took the lead after 10 minutes through Fabien Camus when he slotted past the visiting goalkeeper Yohann Pele following a great throughball by Benjamin Nivet.

On-loan Steven Fletcher equalised for Les Olympiens just after the hour mark after he was played through by Bouna Sarr.

He then had chance to take the lead from the penalty spot after he was brought down, but his effort was...

Toulouse moved out of Ligue 1's bottom three for the first time since October thanks to a slender 1-0 win over already-relegated Troyes.

Substitute Oscar Trejo's strike early in the second-half proved enough for Pascal Dupraz's side as they extended their current run of decent form which has seen them lose just once in their previous six.

Defeat for the visitors, their tenth in eleven matches, wraps up a woeful season on the road for Mohamed Bradja's side who have long since been preparing for a rapid...

Diego Rolan grabbed a brace as Bordeaux secured Ligue 1 survival with a 4-2 defeat of Troyes, only their second win in eight on the road.

In what proved to be an open affair, Les Girondins drew first blood when a Rincon error allowed Rolan a run on goal and he made no mistake, before Chris Mavinga headed into his own goal from Malcom's corner to hand Bordeaux a two-goal advantage at the break.

Relegated Troyes pulled a goal back when Benjamin Nivet scored from the penalty spot on 56 minutes but Bordeaux's...
