Lens climbed off the bottom of the Ligue 1 table after claiming a 2-0 away win at Toulouse on Friday night.

Alharbi El Jadeyaoui opened the scoring for Antoine Kombouare's side in the 12th minute and Benjamin Bourigeaud doubled the advantage shortly before the half-hour mark to earn the club's third league win of the season.

The victory moved Lens out of the bottom three and into 14th place ahead of the rest of this weekend's fixtures, with Evian dropping down to join Guingamp and Caen in the basement.

First-half goals from Nicolas N'Koulou and Andre-Pierre Gignac earned Marseille an eighth consecutive win to take them seven points clear of rivals Paris Saint-Germain in Ligue 1.

In front of a record Stade Velodrome attendance of 61,846, the league leaders continued their march in comfortable fashion as they celebrated a 2-0 victory.

Defender N'Koulou scruffily converted Dimitri Payet's free-kick for the opener before Gignac fired his 10th goal in as many league games this season, and Abdelaziz...

Wissam Ben Yedder scored the only goal of the game as Toulouse moved above St Etienne in the Ligue 1 standings after a 1-0 win at Stade Geoffroy-Guichard.

Ben Yedder tucked home in the 21st minute and although the home side had chances to level, most notably when Benjamin Corgnet struck the crossbar just after the half hour, Toulouse held on and are now unbeaten in four games.

It is a different story for Les Verts, who were third in the table after beating Lens a couple of weeks ago but are now winless...

Toulouse send special birthday message to Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has some admirers in the French league.

On this day 33 years ago, the embryonic space capsule containing little baby Zlatan arrived on this planet and, to herald this momentous anniversary, PSG's Ligue 1 rivals Toulouse sent the Swedish striker a special birthday message.

Appearing on the Toulouse club website, the birthday message is a lengthy affair, but here's a few of TP's favourite excerpts (i.e, the only bits we could translate properly using our rudimentary GSCE-grade French):

Dear Zlatan,

Today is a special day for you and so,...

Paris Saint-Germain's Cameroonian forward Jean-Christophe Bahebeck celebrates after scoring a goal during PSG's Ligue 1 draw with Toulouse.

Paris St Germain came from behind to draw 1-1 at Toulouse but will feel frustrated at dropping yet more Ligue 1 points as they toiled at the Stade Municipal.

It is the fifth time they have drawn this season and, although they remain unbeaten, Laurent Blanc will be growing increasingly frustrated by their failure to finish teams off.

Ben Yedder's fifth goal of the season gave the hosts the lead before Jean-Christophe Bahebeck equalised -- and that is how it stayed as PSG were frustrated throughout...
