Chinese FA investigates Tianjin Teda win 'following tip-offs and reports'

The Chinese Football Association (CFA) has launched an investigation into Tianjin Teda's 4-1 Chinese Super League win over Tianjin Quanjian on Saturday, promising to "implement regulations strictly" if any impropriety is found.

The result hauled struggling Teda out of the relegation zone and into 14th place in the 16-team league, with the bottom two teams dropping into the second division at the end of the season.

"Following tip-offs and received reports, the Chinese Football Association has started...

Tianjin Quanjian's Champions League dreams take blow in defeat

Tianjin Quanjian's hopes of a place in next year's Asian Champions League suffered a significant blow as Fabio Cannavaro's side were handed a 4-1 thrashing by local rivals Tianjin Teda on Saturday evening.

Quanjian would have moved into sole possession of third place with a win, but Cannavaro's side lost for the first time in 12 games to remain one point behind Manuel Pellegrini's Hebei CFFC.

The result was a significant boost for a Teda side fighting against relegation and the three points earned...

Brazilian Alexandre Pato is part of a Quanjian side that are becoming a power in Asian football.

With Chinese Super League derby fixtures coming thick and fast at the present time, Tianjin's two top sides Teda and Quanjian go head-to-head this weekend in a battle for three crucial points.

Teda, long established in the CSL, are in a desperate fight against a possible relegation, level on points with bottom-placed Yanbian Fude and one point from safety. Quanjian, on the other hand, have enjoyed a successful first season in the top flight and are on the verge of securing a possible AFC Champions...

CSL: Late Anthony Modeste goal earns Tianjin Quanjian draw

Fabio Cannavaro is banking on Anthony Modeste having a major influence on the latter stages of the Chinese Super League after the Frenchman scored his first goal since joining Tianjin Quanjian last month.

The former FC Koln and Hoffenheim forward netted deep into injury time to earn Tianjin a draw against Changchun Yatai but Cannavaro's side still missed the chance to move back into third place as the battle for a place in the Asian Champions League intensifies.

"I don't need to comment on Modeste,...
