Liverpool loan goalkeeper Lawrence Vigouroux to Swindon Town

After a disappointing 2014-15 season Liverpool seem destined to aim for a Champions League spot, rather than a league title.

QPR raid Swindon for Massimo Luongo and Ben Gladwin

Australian international Massimo Luongo will join QPR next season.

Swindon midfielder Massimo Luongo has become Chris Ramsey's first permanent signing at QPR as they prepare for life in the Championship next term.

The 22-year-old has agreed terms on a three-year deal at Loftus Road and has left the Robins for an undisclosed fee.

Later on Thursday afternoon, Rangers announced that Luongo's Swindon colleague Ben Gladwin had also moved to Loftus Road on a three-year contract.

Jermaine Beckford was the star man.

Jermaine Beckford hit a Wembley hat trick as Preston ended their play-off jinx at the 10th attempt.

The striker, fittingly wearing the No. 10 shirt, wrote his name in North End folklore as they swept aside Swindon 4-0 to clinch promotion to the Sky Bet Championship.

Having lost their previous nine play-off campaigns -- the worst record of any club -- there were fears Preston would choke on the big day once again.

But they found accommodating opposition in Swindon, who simply rolled over after Beckford...

Aston Villa are in advanced talks to sign Australia international Massimo Luongo from Swindon, sources have told ESPN FC.

Villa boss Tim Sherwood was present to watch the midfielder on Monday night as Swindon reached the League One playoff final with a 7-6 aggregate victory over Sheffield United.

Sherwood had worked with Luongo during his time in charge of Tottenham's academy and has retained a keen interest in the 22-year-old.

Luongo had joined Spurs in 2011 after a successful trial, but he struggled...

Substitute Jonathan Obika eventually sent Swindon to Wembley as they edged Sheffield United 7-6 on aggregate after a thrilling 5-5 draw in their League One play-off semi-final second leg - the highest-scoring match in playoff history.

The Swindon forward stepped off the bench to grab goal eight of 10 but it proved to be crucial as Town held on despite late strikes from Matt Done and Che Adams to book a tie with Preston at the national stadium.

Mark Cooper's side were 3-0 up inside 20 minutes with...
