Anton Rodgers' free-kick was enough to give Swindon victory as they beat Bradford 1-0 at the County Ground.

The 23-year-old opened his goalscoring tally for the season to give the Robins their sixth Sky Bet League One win this campaign.

Bradford should have taken the lead after nine minutes when Marc McNulty found himself in on goal but he fired his attempt wide.

Swindon almost took the lead through Lloyd Jones' powerful header but Colin Doyle saved it on the line.

Southend's frustrating recent record against Swindon continued with a 1-1 draw against the Robins at Roots Hall.

The Shrimpers seemed set for a third win in a row when Will Atkinson fired Phil Brown's side in front on his 150th appearance for the club.

But Jonathan Obika netted an equaliser 17 minutes from time to make it nine games without defeat for Swindon against Southend.

The hosts - who have now gone seven league games without defeat - opened the scoring after just 12 minutes with Atkinson on...

Tim Sherwood tasted League One defeat for the first time since taking over as Swindon's director of football as Rochdale cruised to a 4-0 victory.

Following their midweek exit from the FA Cup at the hands of non-league Eastleigh, Sherwood took a place in the directors box as the Robins slipped up at the Crown Oil Arena.

John Goddard and Anton Rodgers both saw efforts kept out by Dale goalkeeper Conrad Logan before the visitors fell behind in the 29th minute to Joe Bunney's precise header.

And the contest...

Tim Sherwood's dugout confusion at Swindon after taking charge

Despite being odds-on favourite to take the QPR manager's role at the time, Tim Sherwood surprised everybody last week by instead agreeing to become "director of football" at League One side Swindon Town.

However, it would appear that Sherwood is just as confused about his new role, seemingly adopting a prominent place and conducting traffic in the dugout during last night's FA Cup first round replay against Eastleigh while Luke Williams, the Robins' actual head coach, was forced into the background.

Non-league Eastleigh knock out Swindon Town in FA Cup first round

Swindon director Tim Sherwood came out of the stands but could not spark his club in the FA Cup.

Eastleigh produced an FA Cup first-round shock by dumping out League One Swindon Town after a 3-1 win in their replay at the County Ground.

The National League side took a ninth-minute lead through Jai Reason and never looked back with Andy Drury doubling their lead before the break and Mikael Mandron's 74th-minute penalty making sure, with Nathan Delfouneso scoring a consolation.

Tim Sherwood, the former Tottenham manager who was hired as Swindon's director of football last week, made the...
