Everton want Swansea's Ashley Williams if John Stones exits - sources

ESPN FC's Dan Thomas and Craig Burley discuss the recent reports that Everton have turned down another Chelsea bid for John Stones.
With aging defenders and money to spend, Chelsea have their eye on John Stones, and ESPN FC's Gabriele Marcotti says it's a necessary investment.

Everton are weighing up a move for Swansea defender Ashley Williams should John Stones leave Goodison Park this summer, sources have told ESPN FC.

Chelsea have targeted Stones from Everton and, despite seeing two bids rejected, the Premier League champions remain confident of landing the England international.

Real Madrid cruised to a 4-1 win over Manchester City in Melbourne on Friday night.

An inexperienced centre-back pairing for Manchester City played right into the hands of Real Madrid, who ran out 4-1 winners at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in front of 99,382 fans.

A fluid, interchanging front four of Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema, Isco and Cristiano Ronaldo ran riot against youngsters Jason Denayer and Cameron Humphreys in the first half, and goals by Benzema and Ronaldo within four minutes of each other gave the Spanish side a comfortable lead inside the first 25 minutes.

Bafetimbi Gomis to stay at Swansea despite Al Ahli link - Garry Monk

Bafetimbi Gomis scored 10 goals for Swansea last season.

Swansea will resist any attempts to lure their France striker Bafetimbi Gomis away from the Liberty Stadium.

Wealthy Dubai-based Al Ahli have been linked with a surprise move for the 29-year-old Gomis, who scored 10 goals for Swansea after joining from Lyon on a free transfer last summer.

Gomis had an eventful first season at Swansea, spending the first half of the campaign in the shadow of Wilfried Bony when he was outspoken in his criticism about his lack of starting opportunities.

But Bony's...

Swansea defender Jordi Amat aims to step up his recovery from a broken metatarsal by rejoining the first-team squad next week.
