Baroka back to winning ways as SuperSport suffer more misery

Baroka FC claimed a first Premier League win in eight games when they defeated SuperSport United 3-1 at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Sunday to move to fourth on the table and possibly kill off their opponents' title hopes.

Baroka are six points behind runaway leaders Mamelodi Sundowns, but have played two games more. SuperSport are now 13 points behind their Tshwane rivals, but do still have three games in hand.

They have just a single win in their last seven games though and look fatigued and devoid...

Who is really leading the charge in the PSL?

With the South African Premier Soccer League fixtures again thrown into a shambles by SuperSport United's run to the CAF Confederation Cup Final, it is tough to gauge just who is in command in the title race this season.

SuperSport have played half the number of matches (six) of leaders Baroka FC, and while there is something to be said for getting points on the board, it is clear that the Limpopo club are in something of a false position.

KweséESPN takes a look at the number of points per...

SuperSport United take aim at PSL league title

Just days after the disappointment of missing out on the CAF Confederation Cup, SuperSport United coach Eric Tinkler has made it clear the club have now set their sights on South Africa's Premier Soccer League title.

They have much catching up to do, having had a swathe of fixtures postponed while they advanced to the final of the continental club competition, starting on Wednesday at home to Ajax Cape Town.

"For the game we plan to make quite a few changes because we have brought in quite a few...

Dejected Eric Tinkler admits TP Mazembe experience counted in Confed Cup final

Dejected SuperSport United coach Eric Tinkler admitted that his side were outdone by a more experienced and cup-ready outfit as they failed to wrestle the African Confederation Cup away from Tout Puissant Mazembe at the weekend.

"I don't think it has anything to do with our lack of experience but more with their experience because we are talking about a team that has won many, many competitions, be it the Champions League or the Confederation Cup," Tinkler said in his post-match press conference.

"I...

TP Mazembe beat SuperSport United to retain CAF Confederation Cup crown

The quality and experience of TP Mazembe was evident in the CAF Confederation Cup final on Saturday as they outplayed and out-thought SuperSport United to retain the title.

A goalless draw in the second leg at Lucas Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville, on the outskirts of South Africa's capital Pretoria, meant a 2-1 victory on aggregate after success in last Sunday's first leg at home.

It is Mazembe's third successive continental title after the 2015 CAF Champions League title and the Confederation...
