Craig Beattie hit a last-gasp equaliser as Ayr snatched a 2-2 draw against bottom side Stirling.

The former West Brom and Swansea striker buried his fourth goal of the season in the 90th minute when Peter Murphy's long free-kick was swept into his path.

Alan Forrest had given Ayr the lead 10 minutes after the interval when he tucked away Ryan Donnelly's pass.

But Steven Doris turned the game on its head with two goals in 14 minutes, the first a superb free-kick from 25 yards in the 66th minute.

Substitute Martyn Fotheringham grabbed a late winner as leaders Forfar finally broke the resistance of rock-bottom Stirling in a 2-1 victory.

The visitors looked set to become only the second team this season to leave Station Park with a point but were undone in the 81st minute when Fotheringham headed in from Mark Baxter's cross just seven minutes after coming off the bench.

Forfar had threatened in the 16th minute when Baxter's shot was parried by Callum Reidford and they broke the deadlock 10 minutes...

Peterhead made it three wins from their last four away games in Scottish League One but had to work hard for a 3-2 victory over struggling Stirling.

The Blue Toon went close to breaking the deadlock after 22 minutes when Steven Noble fired against the bar from outside of the box, but Bryan Gilfillan did put the visitors in front when heading in a Jamie Stevenson corner on the half-hour mark.

Peterhead doubled their advantage in the second half when the ball rebounded in off Lee Hamilton for an own...

Two goals either side of half-time saw Raith ease past Stirling 2-0 in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup.

Striker Gordon Smith had a glorious chance to put the hosts in front after just two minutes but somehow headed wide from six yards.

Team-mate Alex Cunningham then saw a powerful drive expertly saved by goalkeeper David McGurn before Raith took the lead.

Mark Stewart's cross into the box fell kindly to midfielder Barrie McKay and he steered it into the bottom corner after 44 minutes.

Gozie Ugwu hit a hat-trick as Dunfermline ended a run of four Scottish League One games without a win when brushing aside bottom club Stirling with a 4-0 victory at East End Park.

The Pars were in front after just five minutes when Ugwu headed in a free-kick from out wide on the right and the striker was on target again 13 minutes later when firing in a shot which went in off the post.

Ugwu could have had a first-half treble but nodded wide as Dunfermline continued to dominate and he had another header...
