Andrew Stirling's 84th-minute winner gave Stirling their first home victory in 10 months as they beat Peterhead 2-1.

The League One basement dwellers had not won on their own patch all season but Stirling turned home Lewis Coult's cross from close range to finally give their home supporters something to cheer.

The hosts had fallen behind after just four minutes when Rory McAllister's deflected free-kick found its way past Callum Reidford in the home side's goal.

However, 59 seconds later Coult levelled...

Stranraer returned to winning ways and went top of the Scottish League One table after victory at bottom club Stirling.

William Gibson scored the only goal of the game for Stephen Aitken's side, who arrived at Forthbank following back-to-back 1-0 defeats.

Stranraer always looked likely to score and Sean Winter headed a good chance wide before home goalkeeper Callum Reidford made a good save to deny Gibson.

At the other end, Lewis Coult had a rare opportunity for Stirling but David Mitchell kept the...

Stirling ended their run of seven straight defeats in Scottish League One with a creditable 1-1 draw at Dunfermline.

They looked on course for a surprise win when Gordon Smith put them ahead in the 71st minute but Andy Geggan quickly equalised to ensure the spoils were shared.

Stirling made a bright start as Willie Robertson's 20-yard shot was saved by Ryan Scully and the Dunfermline goalkeeper also kept out Lewis Coult's header while Michael Moffat's shot hit the top of the crossbar at the other end.

Albion pair in fitness race

Bottom club Stirling Albion are hoping both Darren Smith and Graham Weir will be available to face deposed leaders Stranraer after injury.

But Steven Doris is still out with a stomach muscle problem as the Forthbank men look to build on a good performance against Morton in midweek.

Assistant manager Martyn Corrigan said: "It sounds crazy after you have lost 4-0, but we matched Morton for most of the game.

"We had as many chances as them but the key difference was that they were clinical.

"If we can play...

Stefan McCluskey's hat-trick in a 4-0 win over Stirling sent Morton to the top of Scottish League One.

With Stranraer losing at Stenhousemuir, Jim Duffy's side took full advantage by extending their unbeaten run to eight games with a convincing victory against the division's bottom club.

Morton had goalkeeper Derek Gaston to thank early on, with Angus Bieth and Gordon Smith seeing efforts saved.

The hosts took full advantage as McCluskey opened the scoring 10 minutes before the break, turning in Declan...
