James Collins fired in his second goal of the game late on as promotion contenders Shrewsbury beat Stevenage 3-2 in a Greenhous Meadow thriller.

Four of the five goals came in the first half but Collins' second of the game prevented the visitors from becoming just the third team to take a point off the Shrews in Shropshire.

Stevenage, with five wins and a draw from their previous six games, took the lead in the 10th minute.

Tom Pett's pass picked out Adam Marriott and the striker broke into the box...

Stevenage have now collected 16 points from a possible 18 following a comprehensive 2-0 win at York.

Adam Marriott and Tom Pett were both on target as the visitors extended their impressive unbeaten run to a sixth game.

Stevenage were the dominant side during the opening 45 minutes with Chris Whelpdale and Charlie Lee both missing early chances.

Home keeper Bobby Olejnik also made a brilliant save to deny Pett before Adam Marriott headed the visitors in front in the 39th minute.

Simon Walton scored the winning goal from the penalty spot as Stevenage stretched their unbeaten run to five games with a 2-1 victory over AFC Wimbledon at the Lamex Stadium.

Tom Pett had put the home side ahead just after the half-hour mark, only for Wimbledon to pull level shortly afterwards through George Francomb.

However the visitors, fresh from running Liverpool close in the FA Cup on Monday, could not hold on to a point as Walton made no mistake from 12 yards out after Deji Oshilaja had fouled...

A first-half penalty miss from Jack Redshaw proved decisive as Morecambe and Stevenage fought out a goalless draw.

The Morecambe striker rattled the crossbar with his effort after Kevin Ellison had been brought down by Darius Charles as the Shrimps hit back after a good Stevenage opening spell.

Stevenage started the game on the front foot and created several early chances as they looked to avoid a second draw of the season against the Shrimps.

Darius Charles forced Scott Davies into a superb save with...

Charlie Lee, Tom Pett and Dean Parrett all scored in the first half as Stevenage recorded their third successive victory with a 3-2 win against Cambridge.

An action-packed first half saw Lee give Stevenage the lead after 14 minutes and, while Ryan Bird equalised eight minutes later, goals from Pett and Parrett within six of each other thereafter sunk the U's.

Cambridge did post a late fightback with striker Adam Cunnington making it 3-2 with five minutes left to play but Stevenage held on for a win...
