St Johnstone earned a first win in five matches as they put 10-men Inverness Caley Thistle to the sword with a clinical 3-0 victory in the Ladbrokes Premiership.

Liam Craig got the ball rolling with a 14th minute goal and the home side were helped when Inverness skipper Gary Warren was given a red card in the 61st minute following two yellow cards in the space of just 60 seconds.

When Murray Davidson drove in a second for the Perth outfit there appeared no way back for their visitors and Danny Swanson's...

Ross County won 4-2 at St Johnstone, with four headed goals lifting the Staggies off the foot of the Ladbrokes Premiership and giving them a first win in 11 matches.

Jay McEveley and Christopher Routis struck in a first half performance that belied County's lowly position at the foot of the Ladbrokes Premiership.

A third header from Craig Curran just after the hour mark made it 3-0, before Danny Swanson gave Saints hope with a penalty just two minutes later.

Callum Paterson rescued a point for Hearts as they played out a breathless 2-2 draw with a St Johnstone side inspired by Danny Swanson on his return to Tynecastle.

The 22-year-old defender rose highest to meet a corner-kick with just three minutes remaining, powering beyond the excellent Zander Clark.

Paterson's sixth goal of the season cancelled out Chris Kane's strike 60 seconds earlier which looked destined to see the spoils return to Perth.

It was a grandstand finish to a magnificent encounter which...

Arsene Wenger backs England, Scotland to defy FIFA poppy ban

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has backed the decision by the English and Scottish Football Associations to defy FIFA over its poppy ban.

It was announced on Wednesday evening that England and Scotland players will wear black armbands bearing poppies in their World Cup qualifier at Wembley on Nov. 11, Armistice Day.

This is despite FIFA general secretary Fatma Samoura saying there should be no exceptions to a law which states players' equipment should not carry any commercial, religious, personal...

An injury-time strike from captain Abdul Osman earned Partick Thistle a dramatic 2-1 win at St Johnstone in the Ladbrokes Premiership.

The match appeared to be heading for a stalemate after Kris Doolan's first-half opener for the visitors was cancelled out immediately by Steven MacLean's equaliser.

However, in the 600th competitive match at McDiarmid Park, it was Thistle who were to enjoy a happy ending as Osman fired in the winner with seconds to spare.

It was a welcome second win in a row for the...
