Tranquillo Barnetta signed for Philadelphia Union from Schalke.

Philadelphia Union midfielder Tranquillo Barnetta is contemplating a return to his hometown club St Gallen.

"I always wanted to return, but the question is if now is the right time," Barnetta told St Galler Tagblatt.

Barnetta, 31, is the club captain at MLS side Philadelphia Union and has contributed five goals as his team chase their first playoff appearance since 2011.

Swansea's preparations for their final Europa League Group A game against St Gallen were heavily disrupted as a combination of poor weather and technical problems resulted in a nightmare 12-hour journey to Switzerland.

The Welsh club had been due to fly from Cardiff Airport at 10am on Wednesday, but fog caused an initial delay to their departure.

Krasnodar hammer sorry St Gallen

Kuban Krasnodar claimed their first win in Europa League Group A in style as they swept aside St Gallen 4-0.

Lorenzo Melgarejo was on target twice, opening the scoring in the third minute and getting the third 18 minutes from time.
