St Etienne defender Francois Clerc is determined to claim the bragging rights over former club Toulouse and end his current employers' six-game Ligue 1 run without a win.

The former Toulouse star has admitted St Etienne must break their ``negative series'' at his old club on Saturday, heading into the fixture buoyed by a 2-2 draw with Marseille.

``I think the draw against Marseille is a little re-boot for us,'' said Clerc.

``We are still in a somewhat negative series when it comes to victories.

Marseille conceded a last-minute equaliser at St. Etienne as their Ligue 1 title hopes were hit by a third straight draw.

Mevlut Erdinc's injury-time goal earned the hosts a 2-2 draw and denied Marseille the chance to move level on points with second-placed Paris St Germain, keeping them four points behind leaders Lyon.

A quick-fire second-half brace from substitute Michy Batshuayi, who scored one minute and four minutes after coming on, had turned the game in the visitors' favour following Max...

Bordeaux's push for a top-four finish appears to be back on track after they squeezed out St Etienne 1-0 to make it back-to-back wins in Ligue 1.

A run of six matches without victory had seen Les Girondins slip off the pace in the battle for European football, but Diego Rolan's goal was enough to earn them three points as they closed the gap on their fourth-placed opponents to just one.

St Etienne, however, saw their winless run extended to five games with the top three remaining nine points ahead.

Saint-Etienne's Ricky Van Wolfswinkel, right, celebrates with Loic Perrin after scoring on Tuesday.

St Etienne put their recent indifferent league form behind them by sealing their place in the Coupe de France quarterfinals with a 2-1 victory over Red Star on Tuesday night.

Les Verts are winless in their last four Ligue 1 games but they made a fine start to the Stade Bauer encounter when on-loan striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel gave them an 18th-minute lead.

Things went from bad to worse for Red Star when they lost defender Julien Ielsch to a 25th-minute red card.

But the third division side were...

Dortmund's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang plans St Etienne return

Borussia Dortmund moved off the bottom of the Bundesliga table with a 3-0 win over Freiburg, while Bayern Munich eased past Stuttgart 2-0.

Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has said he would love to return to former club St Etienne later in his career.

Aubameyang, 25, joined Dortmund in summer 2013 after two-and-a-half successful seasons at St Etienne, where he began to fully realise the potential that AC Milan had spotted when they had recruited the France-born Gabon international to their youth academy.

Aubameyang scored 35 goals in 73 Ligue 1 outings in his last two seasons with Les Verts, and though he has more...
