Oscar Garcia named St Etienne coach on two-year contract

St Etienne have appointed Oscar Garcia as their new manager on a two-year contract.

Former Brighton and Watford boss Garcia leaves Red Bull Salzburg, whom he led to the Austrian league and cup double during 2015-16 and 2016-17.

St Etienne make New York City FC's Patrick Vieira their top target - report

NYCFC scored goals in the 80th and 85th minute to come from behind and defeat Philadelphia.

The vacant coaching position at St Etienne is Patrick Vieira's to turn down, according to L'Equipe, as the New York City FC boss' future remains unclear. 

Vieira appeared to dismiss speculation earlier this week that he could take a first coaching role in his native France when he stated he had "set out on a long-term project with New York City."

According to L'Equipe, however, Vieira has not ruled out succeeding Christophe Galtier at the head of 10-time French champions St Etienne. The Ligue...

NYCFC scored goals in the 80th and 85th minute to come from behind and defeat Philadelphia.

New York City FC coach Patrick Vieira has dismissed reports linking him with the vacant coaching position at French club St Etienne.

Vieira, a former midfielder for France, Arsenal and Manchester City, is currently in charge of City's MLS sister club, but has been linked with the Ligue 1 outfit following the resignation of the long-serving Christophe Galtier.
