United States international Julian Green has joined second-tier German side Greuther Furth, for whom he played on loan last season, from Stuttgart on a two-year deal.

Earlier this month, Stuttgart revealed that they hoped an agreement could be reached for a permanent transfer, which was announced on Sunday.

Green, 22, is currently on loan from Stuttgart with Greuther Fuerth in the 2.Bundesliga after stints with Bayern Munich and Hamburg, but is he most famously remembered for being picked ahead of U.S. veteran Landon Donovan by Klinsmann for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

Despite seeing limited action for the Americans...

United States international Julian Green has joined second-tier club Greuther Furth on a season-long loan from Stuttgart.

Green, 22, joined Stuttgart from Bayern Munich in January but has struggled for regular playing time.

This season, he has been deemed surplus to first-team requirements by Stuttgart coach Hannes Wolf and switched to Greuther Furth, currently bottom of the second tier.
