Slovenian champions Maribor aim to add to Sporting Lisbon's struggles when they end their 15-year wait for UEFA Champions League group stage football on Wednesday.

The two clubs line-up in Group G with Chelsea and Schalke the favourites to qualify from the section, and probably need to pick up early points if they have designs of making the knockout stages of the competition.

Sporting Lisbon blast Doyen Sports over Marcos Rojo's United move

Argentinean defender Marcos Rojo is set to make his debut for van Gaal's Manchester United after receiving his work permit.

MANCHESTER, England -- Sporting Lisbon president Bruno de Carvalho expects to face the Doyen Sports group in court over the controversial transfer of Marcos Rojo to Manchester United.

- Rojo granted work permit

Carvalho is now campaigning against third-party ownership and is angry at Doyen Sports' involvement in the departure of Rojo and the alleged share of the transfer fee they were due, which Sporting have not paid.

Born in Angola to a family of footballing pedigree, William moved to his adopted homeland of Portugal at the age of 10. It did not take him long to make an impression, though, as he progressed with smaller Lisbon clubs RD Algueirao and Uniao Mira Sintra. At the age of 14, Sporting used star player Nani to convince Carvalho to reject the advances of rivals Benfica, completing a 12,500 euro transfer for the former Uniao captain.

Once there, he linked up with the club's Juniores C (under-14) side...
