Graham Cummins secured a 1-1 draw for Exeter with a well-taken late equaliser at Southend.

The Shrimpers went ahead in the 33rd minute when David Worrall headed home for the Shrimpers.

But Cummins' effort 13 minutes from time made sure of a well-deserved point for the Grecians.

Southend had the better of the first half, with Lee Barnard striking the left post from close range after Ryan Leonard's long-range shot had been deflected into his path by Jack Payne.

However, Exeter were on top after the break...

First-half goals from Alex Lawless and Mark Cullen saw Luton comfortably beat Southend at Kenilworth Road.

The Hatters had the lead after 17 minutes when Lawless, making his first start of the season, cut into the box and curled a lovely effort beyond Shrimpers 'keeper Daniel Bentley.

Lawless almost teed up a second only for Bentley to intervene but the second did arrive on 34 minutes when the Southend 'keeper and defender Cian Bolger made a hash of their clearances.

Andy Drury picked up the loose ball...

Morecambe continued their excellent record against Southend with a 1-0 win at Roots Hall.

The Shrimps have now won eight and drawn one of the nine league meetings between the two teams.

And it was a fifth-minute volley from Jack Redshaw which secured their latest success against the Shrimpers who came into the game on the back of four straight wins.

The former Manchester City trainee crept in behind Southend centre-back Adam Thompson to meet Shaun Beeley's ball forward and fired a first-time volley...

Shaq Coulthirst's second-minute header secured Southend a 1-0 win over 10-man Shrewsbury and a fourth successive win for the Shrimpers.

The on-loan Tottenham striker was picked out by John White's deep right-wing cross and brilliantly nodded the ball in to the bottom right-hand corner of the net from 16 yards.

Shrewsbury, who had substitute striker Andy Mangan sent off five minutes from time, came close to equalising, Jean-Louis Akpra Akpro striking the post and James Collins shooting inches wide of...

Southend racked up a third consecutive win by beating struggling York 3-2 at Bootham Crescent.

Second-half Shrimpers strikes from Kevan Hurst and Jack Payne put the game beyond the hosts after Russell Penn had earlier cancelled out Myles Weston's opening goal from the penalty spot.

Dave Winfield did get a late consolation for the Minstermen but York remain without a home victory this term.

Southend forged ahead on ten minutes when Weston got his second goal for the club following a summer move from...
