York are struggling to hit the heights they reached last season and boss Nigel Worthington could shuffle his pack for the home game against Southend.

The Minstermen have drawn blanks in their last two matches and although last week's defeat at Burton was their first in the league this season, they have registered just one win.

Worthington has no new injury or suspension problems, but his attacking options remain limited and he must decide whether to recall Anthony Straker on the right wing or stick...

Substitute Conor Clifford's long range strike was enough to sink 10-man Cheltenham and earn Southend their second win in four days.

Clifford beat Trevor Carson with a rasping drive from 25 yards which flew into the bottom-left corner and ensure that the Robins' blimp continued.

Cheltenham had lost midfielder Jason Taylor to a straight red in the 37th minute for his reaction to a challenge from Clifford, who had only been on the pitch for two minutes.

It was the first red card shown to a Robins player...

Second half goals from Barry Corr and Shaq Coulthirst got Southend back to winning ways with a 2-0 victory against Portsmouth at Roots Hall.

The Shrimpers went into the game without a win in their last five outings.

But Corr's 56th-minute effort settled an uneventful game in favour of Phil Brown's side.

Both teams struggled to create chances with Southend's on-loan left-back Jerome Binnom-Williams having a powerful first-half header from Kevan Hurst's corner well parried to safety by Portsmouth goalkeeper...

Danny Hylton's second-half penalty secured Oxford a 1-1 draw at Southend.

Hylton won the spot-kick after being adjudged to have been brought down by Shrimpers centre-back Luke Prosser.

And he confidently stroked the 67th-minute penalty into the bottom left-hand corner for his fourth goal of the campaign.

Southend had earlier taken the lead in the 36th minute with Jack Payne netting his third goal in two games.

The young midfielder was found inside the penalty area by Conor Clifford and drove an impressive...

Matt Tubbs held his nerve from the penalty spot as AFC Wimbledon reached the second round of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy with a shoot-out victory over Southend following a 2-2 draw at Kingsmeadow.

Substitute Tubbs scored the decisive kick to maintain a perfect record for the hosts in the shoot-out after Southend's Lee Barnard struck a post and Dons goalkeeper James Shea saved Ben Coker's spot-kick.

Wimbledon had twice pegged back their opponents with Kevin Sainte-Luce and then Adam Barrett's goal...
