Reims crash out of Coupe de France with defeat at third-division Chambly

Third-division side Chambly pulled off a shock 4-1 victory to knock Reims out of the Coupe de France with a hat trick from Wilfried Louisy-Daniel.

With Ligue 1 clubs being drawn away from home, Reims, who are 17th in the French top division, came unstuck at the Stade des Marais where Louisy-Daniel struck twice in the opening 10 minutes.

Sochaux not giving up on L1 hopes

Lens fans eventually saw their Ligue 1 status confirmed, though it may come at the expense of Sochaux.

Sochaux have announced they will ask to be reinstated in Ligue 1 after they feel they were treated unfairly by French football authorities.

Relegated after finishing 18th in the top flight last season, Sochaux were the likely beneficiaries if Lens did not win their battle to have their promotion as the 2013/14 Ligue 2 runners-up validated.

The DNCG had concerns that Azerbaijani owner Hafiz Mammadov had not put enough money into the team for it to succeed at the next level, and asked for 10 million euros to...

Vincent Nogueira doesn't rule out switch

Philadelphia Union midfielder Vincent Nogueira moved to the MLS to escape the goldfish-bowl pressure of playing for his local club in France, Nogueira told L'Equipe.

"It's a choice that goes beyond sport, almost philosophical. Sochaux gave me a comfortable future, and this life is the one I wanted. I can't complain. But sometimes I get the impression I missed out on something," Nogueira, who has scored once in four MLS outings, explained.

Born in nearby Besancon, Nogueira, 26, joined Ligue 1 outfit...
