Marseille will meet Paris Saint-Germain in next month's Coupe de France final after a solitary Florian Thauvin goal was enough to see off a disappointing Sochaux side 1-0.

Newly-installed Marseille boss Franck Passi took charge of his first game since Michel's suspension earlier in the week and, despite putting in a mediocre performance, his side did enough to reach their first final since 2007.

In what proved to be a lacklustre opening 45 minutes chances were few and far between as Sochaux stood...

Sochaux stun Monaco to reach Coupe de France quarterfinals

Sochaux's Florian Martin, left, celebrates with club owner Li Wing-Sang after their win on Tuesday.

Ligue 2 strugglers Sochaux produced a stunning upset to reach the Coupe de France quarterfinals with a 2-1 victory over Monaco at the Stade Auguste-Bonal.

Hadi Sacko scored the 54th-minute winner after Tiemoue Bakayoko had pulled Monaco level in the 38th minute following Florian Martin's early opener.

The result came against the odds with Sochaux languishing 19th in Ligue 2 and with their fans expressing concerns over the club's direction, while Monaco sit second in the top flight.

Third-division side Chambly pulled off a shock 4-1 victory to knock Reims out of the Coupe de France with a hat trick from Wilfried Louisy-Daniel.

With Ligue 1 clubs being drawn away from home, Reims, who are 17th in the French top division, came unstuck at the Stade des Marais where Louisy-Daniel struck twice in the opening 10 minutes.

The forward completed his treble just before half-time to leave the visitors stunned.

Algerian Youcef Touati made it 4-0 at the start of the second half, while a...

Sochaux not giving up on L1 hopes

Lens fans eventually saw their Ligue 1 status confirmed, though it may come at the expense of Sochaux.

Sochaux have announced they will ask to be reinstated in Ligue 1 after they feel they were treated unfairly by French football authorities.

Relegated after finishing 18th in the top flight last season, Sochaux were the likely beneficiaries if Lens did not win their battle to have their promotion as the 2013/14 Ligue 2 runners-up validated.

Having twice seen their arguments rejected by the DNCG, the body which oversees the financial well-being of clubs, due to a shortfall in their budget, Lens were...
