Exeter staged a stunning second half comeback as they overturned a 2-0 half-time deficit to beat Shrewsbury 3-2 in a thriller at St James' Park.

Two-goal Tom Nichols was the hero with a stoppage time winner, while substitute David Wheeler was also on target for the Grecians, who trailed to two first half goals by Shrewsbury's James Collins.

The deadlock was broken in the 13th minute as a long-range shot by Collins squirmed under the body of Exeter debutant goalkeeper James Hamon body and into the...

A fine goal from experienced captain Liam Lawrence early in the second half proved enough to earn League Two Shrewsbury a 1-0 replay win over 10-man Walsall.

Lawrence, the former Republic of Ireland international, collected a pass from Bobby Grant in the 53rd minute and rifled a rising 20-yard shot past Richard O'Donnell.

Shrewsbury, who will now travel to Preston in the second round, played most of the first half on the front foot. Leading scorer James Collins fired their best chance wide from close...

High-flying Shrewsbury had few problems sweeping aside 10-man Mansfield 2-0 to notch a sixth straight victory in League Two.

Mansfield, without a win in eight games, were always up against it after losing midfielder Jamie McGuire to a first-half red card.

Following a challenge on Liam Lawrence which earned both men a booking, McGuire flew into a tackle on James Collins to receive a 30th-minute red card.

Shrewsbury had started well and Bobby Grant curled an early shot from the edge of the box just off...

Walsall striker Tom Bradshaw hit two goals to deny his old club Shrewsbury victory in a lively 2-2 FA Cup first round clash at the Banks's Stadium.

His second, and ninth of the season, came in the 90th minute when he deflected in a shot from Paul Downing to earn the Saddlers a replay after the League Two side had twice led.

Shrewsbury surprised Walsall with the pace of their opening play, and the League Two side raced ahead in the fourth minute. An inswinging corner from Liam Lawrence was only partially...

Eden Hazard confused over Chelsea's midweek opponents

Having scored the decisive goal in Chelsea's 2-1 win over QPR yesterday, Eden Hazard was naturally stopped by Chelsea TV for a quick natter in the Stamford Bridge tunnel afterward.

With his English very much still a work in progress, Hazard had a bold stab at pronouncing the name of Chelsea's midweek Capital One Cup opponents, Shrewsbury Town.

Sadly for Hazard, it didn't quite come out right -- the Belgian winger bestowed Chelsea's vanquished League Two opponents with an altogether fruitier new name.
