Norwich goalkeeper Jake Kean joins Sheffield Wednesday

Goalkeeper Jake Kean has joined Sheffield Wednesday after his contract at Norwich City was terminated by mutual consent.

The 25-year-old did not make a senior appearance for the Canaries after joining from Blackburn Rovers last year.

During his time at Norwich, Kean enjoyed loan spells at Colchester United and Swindon Town.

Kean will serve as a backup to Keiren Westwood at Hillsborough next season.

Scotland's Steven Fletcher joins Sheffield Wednesday on free transfer

Steven Fletcher spent the second half of last season on loan with Marseille.

Steven Fletcher has joined Sheffield Wednesday on a four-year deal following the expiry of his Sunderland contract.

The Scotland international spent the second half of last season on loan with Marseille where he made 13 appearances and scored three goals.

Fletcher, 29, has now joined the Owls on a free transfer after his contact expired at the Premier League club on June 30.

Midfielder Diame settled a tense Championship play-off final with a stunning strike from the edge of the area, sinking Sheffield Wednesday 1-0.

Sheffield Wednesday fans buy unused Hull City tickets for playoff final

Sheffield Wednesday fans are purchasing unsold Hull City tickets for Championship playoff at Wembley.

The Football League has warned there will be plenty of empty seats at Wembley on Saturday after Hull failed to sell their full ticket allocation for the Sky Bet Championship playoff final.

Given 38,956 tickets to sell, Hull have handed back an undisclosed number of those, although opponents Sheffield Wednesday have sold out their 38,889 allocation.

Wednesday supporters also bought up a number of additional seats to cope with demand, once it became clear Hull would be unable to pack out their section...
