Norwich goalkeeper Jake Kean joins Sheffield Wednesday

Goalkeeper Jake Kean has joined Sheffield Wednesday after his contract at Norwich City was terminated by mutual consent.

The 25-year-old did not make a senior appearance for the Canaries after joining from Blackburn Rovers last year.

During his time at Norwich, Kean enjoyed loan spells at Colchester United and Swindon Town.

Kean will serve as a backup to Keiren Westwood at Hillsborough next season.

Steve Bruce toasted a moment of magic from Mo Diame as Hull celebrated promotion back to the Premier League.

Midfielder Diame settled a tense Championship play-off final with a stunning strike from the edge of the area, sinking Sheffield Wednesday 1-0.

City boss Bruce admitted he feared his side would blow their chance after they missed a hatful of opportunities to break the deadlock at Wembley.

Diame himself hit a post, Andy Robertson missed a sitter from eight yards, Abel Hernandez's header was...

1. Hull return to the Premier League

We are often told that promotion at the first attempt, following relegation from the Premier League, is an incredibly difficult thing to do, such are the challenges of the Championship.

However Hull have now joined Burnley in managing it this season after a deserved win over Sheffield Wednesday, which came courtesy of Mo Diame.

Hull City secured a return to the Premier League with a deserved 1-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship playoff final at Wembley.

The classiest of finishes from Mohamed Diame was enough to earn promotion at the end of a season that, for several reasons, had threatened to unravel.

Consistent speculation surrounded the future of manager Steve Bruce, while a poor run of form in the second half of the season and concerns surrounding their seriously-ill owner Assem Allam disrupted their...
