Paderborn picked up their first-ever Bundesliga win in style to heap the pressure on Hamburg coach Mirko Slomka after just two games of the season as the away side triumphed 3-0 at the HSV-Arena.

Elias Kachunga, Mario Vrancic and Moritz Stoppelkamp were all on target for the Bundesliga newcomers against the only side never to have been relegated from the top flight.

Koo Ja-cheol netted a late penalty to ensure the spoils were shared.

Paderborn were denied a dream start to life in the Bundesliga as Koo Ja-cheol netted a last-gasp penalty to salvage a 2-2 for Mainz in East Westphalia.

Paderborn became the 53rd club to appear in the Bundesliga and, despite falling behind to a Shinji Okazaki goal, it looked like they were set to mark their arrival with a win when Elias Kachunga and Uwe Hunemeier turned the game on its head.

However, Koo's penalty in stoppage time allowed Mainz to avoid what would have been a third straight defe...

Emmanuel Adebayor was on target for Tottenham in their victory over Schalke.

Tottenham Hotspur ended their preseason on a high with 2-1 win over Schalke at White Hart Lane.

Emmanuel Adebayor opened the scoring in the first half after being set up by Lewis Holtby and Roberto Soldado doubled Spurs' advantage after the restart by scoring from close range.

Kevin-Prince Boateng halved his former side's lead by firing past Hugo Lloris with 10 minutes left but Spurs, who were being watched by former striker Jermain Defoe, held on for victory.

The fact that Soldado, who only ...

Paderborn coach Andre Breitenreiter has said his side are "the most blatant outsiders in Bundesliga history" as he prepares to lead them into their first-ever top-flight season.

Hesse: Paderborn to be wild

The club, based in East Westphalia, shocked many by winning promotion to the Bundesliga last season -- and Breitenreiter said they would continue to play attacking football as they attempt t...
