Arsenal in 'concrete talks' over signing Caglar Soyuncu from Freiburg - agent

David Seaman believes that although a top four finish is achievable for Arsenal under Unai Emery, their defence needs to be addressed.

Arsenal have held "concrete talks" with Freiburg about a move for centre-back Caglar Soyuncu but have yet to agree a fee, the player's agent has said.

Mustafa Dogru told Turkish Football that Arsenal head of recruitment Sven Mislintat has been tracking Soyuncu and the Gunners are keen on a move for the 22-year-old Turkey international.

"Sven is interested in Caglar -- there are concrete talks, and all that remains is for a fee to be agreed," Dogru said.

Will Arsenal's next manager be able to take the current crop of players to new heights or is a complete overhaul on the way for the Gunners?

Freiburg defender Caglar Soyuncu is set to join Arsenal this summer, according to the president of his former Turkish club.

"Caglar Soyuncu is set to join Arsenal," Ozkan said at the International Football Economic Forum, according to Turkish newspaper Sabah.

VAR controversy: Freiburg won't protest against penalty decision vs. Mainz

Freiburg will not protest about the VAR decision to award a penalty to Mainz during half-time of the Bundesliga match between the two on Monday, but said they remain unhappy about the incident.

The official was on his way off the pitch when video referee Bibiana Steinhaus told him he should watch a replay of the incident....
