Wright-Phillips sets MLS fastest hat trick record as Red Bulls beat Toronto

Bradley Wright-Phillips scored the fastest hat-trick in MLS history to crush Toronto FC in an Eastern Conference clash.

Bradley Wright-Phillips scored the fastest hat trick in MLS history in the New York Red Bulls' 3-0 win over  Toronto FC on Saturday.

Wright-Phillips scored all three goals inside the first half-hour for New York, who followed up last week's 7-0 trouncing of NYCFC to move into second place in the Eastern Conference.

He opened the scoring in the fourth minute with a header following Sacha Kljestan's free kick. Kljestan earned another assist in the 25th minute when he played through Wright-Phillips...

MLS All-Star game set for July 28 vs. Arsenal in San Jose

The 2016 MLS All-Star Game start time has been set for July 28 at 7:30 p.m. ET as the league's best will face Premier League side Arsenal in San Jose, California.

The game will be played at the San Jose Earthquakes' Avaya Stadium and telecast in the U.S. on ESPN and in the UK on Sky Sports.

After last year's game against Tottenham, the appearance of Arsenal marks the second consecutive year -- and ninth time in the past 12 years -- that the MLS All-Stars will face English opposition.

The reigning MLS champs got off to an early start and never looked back after smashing Vancouver in a Cascadia derby.

Diego Valeri scored on a penalty kick in the opening minutes and the Portland Timbers rolled to a 4-2 victory over the Cascadia Cup rival Vancouver Whitecaps on Sunday.

Jack McInerney, Dairon Asprilla and Darlington Nagbe also scored to help the Timbers snap a three-game losing streak.

Chris Wondolowski signs new multi-year contract with SJ Earthquakes

San Jose Earthquakes goalscorer Chris Wondolowski discusses his team's keys to victory and his game-winning penalty kick.

The San Jose Earthquakes have signed star forward Chris Wondolowski to a new two-year contract with an option for a third year, the club announced on Friday.

Wondolowski, 33, has scored 116 regular season goals in 240 appearances during his career, good for fourth all-time in Major League Soccer. He has scored 112 of those with San Jose, making him the club's all-time leading scorer.

He won the Golden Boot, awarded to the league's top scorer in 2010 and 2012, and was also the league's MVP in 2012....

Portland Timbers to face San Jose Earthquakes in U.S. Open Cup

MLS teams begin play in the U.S. Open Cup on June 15.

The Portland Timbers will host the San Jose Earthquakes as MLS teams enter the U.S. Open Cup in the fourth round.

The Timbers-Earthquakes matchup is the only one involving two MLS teams.

Most MLS clubs were matched up with lower-division teams from their regions, though many matchups are yet to be fully set before their opponents conclude the third round on June 1.

Among the possible matchups are New York City FC hosting the NASL's New York Cosmos, as well as FC Dallas playing at Rayo OKC.
