Kaka scores in return to Orlando City as Whitecaps rally past Impact

Carlos Rivas scored a screamer and Kaka scored in his return as Orlando made it five straight wins at their new stadium.

Kaka scored in his return from injury and Orlando City stayed perfect at its new stadium with a 2-0 win over the Colorado Rapids.

Orlando has won all five of its home games since opening the new venue this season and own the best record in the league with 18 points from seven matches.

 The Lions nearly took the lead in the second minute but Rapids keeper Zac MacMath, starting for the suspended Tim Howard, made a diving save to deny Antonio Nocerino.

Fanendo Adi sets Timbers goals record as RSL finally wins in snowstorm

Fanendo Adi converted a penalty kick to become Portland's all-time leading scorer in a win at Philadelphia.

Fanendo Adi became the Portland Timbers' all-time top goal scorer with his 46th for the club as he scored to close out a 3-1 victory over the winless Philadelphia Union on Saturday night.

Adi scored from a penalty kick in the 88th minute to move past John Bain, who played for the Timbers in the old NASL from 1978-82. It was his fifth goal of the season after starting the year in third place behind Byron Alvarez (2003-06).

Bastian Schweinsteiger scores in debut as Fire draw; Minnesota earns first win

Bastian Schweinsteiger entered MLS with a bang, opening the scoring against Montreal before they ultimately drew 2-2.

Bastian Schweinsteiger scored in his MLS debut before the Chicago Fire and Montreal Impact traded late goals in a 2-2 draw on Saturday.

Less than two weeks after leaving Manchester United and moving to Chicago, Schweinsteiger played all 90 minutes and scored the opening goal with a header following a corner kick in the 17th minute.

The Impact equalized through Matteo Mancosu just after the hour mark, and it got worse for the Fire after Juninho was sent off for a second booking 10 minutes later.

Earthquakes' Harold Cummings sidelined 4-6 months by broken leg

Harold Cummings has yet to appear for the San Jose Earthquakes.

San Jose Earthquakes defender Harold Cummings will be sidelined for the next four to six months after having surgery to repair a broken leg.

The 25-year-old suffered a fractured fibula as well as a high-ankle sprain in an unspecified accident at home, the MLS club announced.

Cummings only signed with San Jose from Costa Rica giants Alajuelense in January, but had yet to play after recovering from sports hernia surgery.
