Clint Dempsey scores 50th Sounders goal to help Seattle beat Sporting KC

Clint Dempsey played hero for Seattle, with his headed goal the sole difference against Sporting Kansas City.

Clint Dempsey scored his 50th career goal for the Seattle Sounders to provide a 1-0 win over Sporting Kansas City on Saturday.

Dempsey headed home from a Jordan Morris cross in the 36th minute to reach the landmark in his fourth full season with Seattle since his return to MLS in 2013.

Already trailing by three in the 79th minute, Dallas thought it had a goal back when Cristian Colman ran onto a through ball, and though his...

MLS wrap: Whitecaps stun FC Dallas as Sporting KC wins to move top in West

Vancouver downed 10-man FC Dallas, led by a two goal effort by Fredy Montero.

FC Dallas tumbled off the top spot in the Western Conference after being stunned 4-0 at home by the Vancouver Whitecaps on Saturday.

Bernie Ibini and Fredy Montero had already put the Whitecaps up 2-0 when Carlos Gruezo was sent off before the hour mark, and Montero soon added his second before Nicolas Mezquida also scored.

Australia international Ibini scored his first MLS score in the 18th minute with a bouncing shot from distance, and two minutes into the second half Kellyn Acosta conceded a...
