Alan Stubbs: Rotherham manager job too good to turn down

Alan Stubbs won the Scottish Cup with Hibernian.

Alan Stubbs says leaving Hibernian to take over at Championship side Rotherham United was an opportunity too good to turn down.

Stubbs, who had a year to run on his contract, turned his back on the Easter Road club less than a fortnight after leading them to Scottish Cup glory against Rangers -- the club's first trophy in 114 years -- in order to progress his career.

He has penned a three-year contract with the South Yorkshire club, replacing Neil Warnock at the helm, after lengthy negotiations...

Steve McClaren contacts Rotherham about open manager job

Newcastle United manager Steve McClaren
Steve McClaren was sacked by Newcastle in March.

Former England and Newcastle manager Steve McClaren contacted Rotherham about the vacant managerial position, but he is unlikely to be the Millers' new manager, sources tell Press Association Sport.

"We've had this structure for years because it has suited the majority of clubs, so why change it?" Lawn told Press...

Neil Warnock leaves Rotherham after sealing Championship survival

Former QPR boss Neil Warnock guided Rotherham to Championship safety.

Rotherham have been unable to persuade manager Neil Warnock to extend his stay.

Ex-QPR manager Warnock, who was tempted out of retirement at the age of 67, joined the Millers in February until the end of the season.

After he had taken them from the relegation zone to Championship safety, the two parties discussed an extension of his deal.

However, they have been unable to reach an agreement and Warnock will now leave the club, along with first-team coaches Kevin Blackwell and Ronnie Jepson.
