Iran's Sardar Azmoun has the potential to become better than Ali Daei

Sardar Azmoun is one of the top young players in the world.

Nobody has scored more international goals than Iran legend Ali Daei. Indeed, the image of the striker wheeling away in celebration is forever stuck in the memory of a generation of fans in Asia.

Daei, who deserves his global status, found the net an amazing 109 times in 149 games before his international retirement in 2006. It is a record that could last forever, though it could also be broken by a young compatriot.

Rostov said in a statement on their website that they had received the results of tests taken after last week's 3-1 Russian league win over Dynamo Moscow.

The club say "all the doping tests turned out to be clean" and that its players did not use banned substances.

The testing followed reports in Russian media that Rostov had been trying to buy the banned substance meldonium.

Rostov don't have money for medicine, let alone meldonium - assistant coach

FIFA president Gianni Infantino expects Russia to stage a successful 2018 World Cup.

Rostov assistant coach Vitaly Kafanov has denied rumours that his players are taking meldonium.

FIFA drug testers arrived unannounced at the club on Thursday to collect samples amid suspicions of banned substance use during Rostov's surprise pursuit of the league title.

Rostov only remained in the Russian top flight after a relegation playoff last year, but have surprisingly been involved in the title race this season and were tested after beating Dynamo Moscow 3-1 to move within two points of league...
