Keith Hill savoured the taste of victory versus former club Barnsley as his Rochdale side cruised to a 3-0 win at Spotland.

The Dale chief, sacked by the Tykes in December 2012, saw his side pick up three comfortable points against a Barnsley side who looked a shadow of the team which ran Barclays Premier League giants Everton so close in the Capital One Cup just three days earlier.

Calvin Andrew fired the home side ahead in the seventh minute with a fierce drive from the edge of the area. Tykes goalkeeper...

Greg Luer showed his liking for the Capital One Cup with his second goal in this season's competition to help Hull progress to the third round with a 1-0 win over Rochdale at the KC Stadium.

Luer had netted in the 2-2 draw at Accrington in the previous round and also stepped up as Hull won that tie on penalties to set up a meeting with Rochdale, who had knocked out Coventry in a shootout.

Hull manager Steve Bruce made wholesale changes but his Sky Bet Championship side always looked in control against...

Chesterfield and Rochdale played out an entertaining goalless draw in Sky Bet League One at the Proact Stadium, as the goalkeepers came out on top.

Dale keeper Josh Lillis produced a stunning stop to deny Sylvan Ebanks-Blake late in the second half, before Tommy Lee twice saved from Donal McDermott who came close with a free kick in the closing minutes.

The visitors had the first chance in the 22nd minute when McDermott's low cross was met by Joseph Bunney but his shot was deflected behind for a corner.

Walsall picked up their second successive Sky Bet League One away win with a 2-1 success over Rochdale at Spotland.

Second-half goals from Andy Taylor and Sam Mantom handed the Saddlers the spoils in this clash of two top-six sides.

Walsall, who also beat Nottingham Forest on the road in the Capital One Cup seven days earlier, went close to an opening goal in the first minute when Mantom's cross was spilled by Josh Lillis, the Dale goalkeeper then recovering well to keep out shots from Kieron Morris...

Donal McDermott continued his fine start to life at Rochdale by scoring the opening goal in a 2-0 win at Blackpool.

The former Manchester City trainee, who was playing non-league football last season, scored in the Capital One Cup victory over Coventry on Tuesday.

And the forward followed that up by opening his Sky Bet League One account just before the hour-mark at Bloomfield Road before Ian Henderson sealed victory for Dale with a late second.

The visitors started brightly with Henderson and Joe Bunney...
