Ikechukwu Uche and Wellington Silva deny La Liga match-fixing scandal

Ike Uche and Wellington Silva have denied match-fixing in a crucial La Liga game in 2011 between Real Zaragoza and Levante.

Current Villarreal forward Ikechukwu Uche and Almeria attacker Wellington Silva both say they know nothing about Real Zaragoza's 2-1 win at Levante in May 2011 having been potentially fixed.

Uche, Wellington and 16 other players and team officials involved that day have so far appeared in front of Spanish government anti-corruption investigators who reportedly believe they have evidence the result was arranged in advance.

Levante-Zaragoza 2011 Liga tie under investigation for alleged match-fixing

The investigation relates to a game held at the Ciudad de Valencia in 2011.

A Spanish state prosecutor summoned players for questioning on Thursday regarding possible match-fixing in a 2011 La Liga fixture between Levante and Real Zaragoza.

The state prosecutor's office in Madrid said in an email that it "has started procedures to investigate match-fixing and has summoned players implicated for questioning on Oct. 3."

The match under investigation was played during the last round of the 2010-11 season. Zaragoza won 2-1 at Levante via two goals by current Atletico Madrid...
