Real Valladolid sign ex-Barcelona keeper Masip; Barca B add four

Real Valladolid have completed the signing of former Barcelona goalkeeper Jordi Masip on a free transfer, while the Catalan club signed four new players to their B team, the teams announced on Monday.

Masip, 28, has agreed a three-year deal at the Estadio Jose Zorrilla, committing his future to Valladolid, who play in Spain's second division, until 2020.

Having joined Barca in 2004, Masip went on to make 79 appearances for the B team before Luis Enrique promoted him to the senior side in 2014.

Copa del Rey: Real Sociedad, Alaves, Athletic Bilbao all record wins

Real Sociedad will take an advantage into their home leg of the Copa del Rey fourth round after winning 3-1 at Real Valladolid on Thursday.

Diego Rubio seals loan to Sporting KC as young designated player

Chile international Diego Rubio has signed with Sporting Kansas City on loan.

Sporting Kansas City completed the signing of striker Diego Rubio on loan from Spanish club Real Valladolid on Tuesday.

Rubio, 22, signs as a young designated player. He will count toward the team's allotment of three DPs, joining U.S. internationals Matt Besler and Graham Zusi, but his salary will only count $200,000 toward SKC's salary cap.

Players at Barcelona and Real Madrid could have been paid "bonus" money by Osasuna in 2009, according to evidence given during a match-fixing investigation to a judge by Real Valladolid president Carlos Suarez.
