An under-strength Villarreal bossed their Primera Division encounter against Real Sociedad on Saturday evening but left the Anoeta with just a point after a goalless draw.

Victor Ruiz's disallowed goal two minutes from time was as close as either side went to breaking the deadlock, his header from Jonathan dos Santos' free-kick dubiously ruled out for offside. Ruiz was onside, with team-mate Tomas Pina having slightly strayed.

Sociedad goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli stood firm amid the Villarreal onslaught,...

Marouane Fellaini struggled with Man United pressure - David Moyes

ESPN FC's Brian McBride, Alejandro and Alexis Nunes preview Everton's match against Manchester United.

David Moyes has said Marouane Fellaini suffered when he went to Old Trafford because of Manchester United's failure to land other signings after his appointment.

Moyes made Fellaini his first major signing for United when he brought in the Belgian from his former club Everton for £27.5 million on the final day of the transfer window in 2013.

But he was United's only addition in a transfer window when they had attempted to sign players such as Gareth Bale, Cesc Fabregas, Leighton Baines and Ander...

Jonathas de Jesus again proved his worth to Elche by scoring the only goal as his side beat Real Sociedad 1-0 at home to move six points away from the relegation zone.

The Brazilian pounced on an error by Markel Bergara in the 18th minute to score his 10th goal of the season and David Moyes' side were unable to respond against a determined Elche side who played with more energy and intensity than the visitors throughout.

This was a game of few chances but the hosts deserved their victory, which followed...

Carlos Vela unsure of his role with Mexico this summer

One thing Carlos Vela knows: He'll be playing for Mexico, somewhere, this summer.

Real Sociedad forward Carlos Vela is still unsure whether he will be involved for the Mexican national team at the Gold Cup or Copa America this summer, but he wants to win in whichever he'll participate.

"One plays for Mexico aiming to be champion, I want to contribute," Vela told ESPN Deportes in an exclusive interview. "The decision about which [cup] I will go to depends on what the coach has in mind."

El Tri begins its busy summer on June 12 against Bolivia at the Copa America in Chile and kicks...

Substitute Toche struck late to earn Deportivo La Coruna a 2-2 draw at Real Sociedad in new coach Victor Sanchez del Amo's first game in charge of the Galicians.

Xabi Prieto put David Moyes' side ahead from the penalty spot just after the half hour mark but Deportivo were offered an opportunity to level from 12 yards before half-time, which Lucas Perez took by converting on the rebound after his spot-kick had been saved.

Chory Castro restored La Real's lead on 57 minutes with a sumptuous volley fit...
