SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Javier Morales evened the score in the 36th minute, and the San Jose Earthquakes and Real Salt Lake finished with a 1-1 draw Saturday night.

Morales converted from the spot after referee David Gantar ruled Earthquakes defender Jason Hernandez tripped Joao Plata inside the penalty area. The draw gives Real Salt Lake (11-5-10) 43 points and moves them into a second-place tie with the LA Galaxy in the Western Conference.

After going a man-down once Blas Pérez saw red, FC Dallas battled back and notched in two second half goals with Real Salt Lake's Olmes Garcia scoring a wonder-goal at the death.

FRISCO, Texas -- Je-Vaughn Watson and Fabian Castillo scored second-half goals, and 10-man FC Dallas beat Real Salt Lake 2-1 on Friday night to make it a three-way tie atop the Western Conference.
