Real crave Suarez, Reds eye Shaqiri

Away we go with another round of Transfer Talk, with all the latest player and manager moves, rumours and gossip.

Suarez to become a 'Galactico'?

It's all been fun and games for Liverpool in the transfer market so far, with Emre Can close to joining Rickie Lambert in the arrivals hall at Anfield.

However, the optimism spurred by some shrewd early business could soon disappear, as it emerges that Real Madrid are plotting a 73 million-pound bid for Luis Suarez.

Given their reputation for being more spoilt than Veruca Salt, it's difficult to envisage Real giving up easily in their chase for the striker, who enjoyed a phenomenal campaign that yielded 31 goals in the Premier League.

The Daily Mail says that, while Suarez has expressed he's happy to stay at Liverpool, the Reds are gearing up for another bitter battle to hold on to their star player.

Enter Shaqiri

Real Madrid's interest in Suarez hasn't stopped Liverpool pursuing their own targets as Brendan Rodgers sets his sights on signing number three.

According to The Mirror, Alberto Moreno is likely to be the next arrival after the Reds agreed a five-year deal with the left-back and a 17.9 million-pound fee with Sevilla.

Meanwhile, Rodgers is ready to shelve his interest in Adam Lallana and slap in a bid for Xherdan Shaqiri instead.

The Bayern Munich winger is reportedly keen to leave the Allianz Arena after struggling to force his way into Pep Guardiola's plans, with Manchester United also weighing up an offer for his services.

Benfica wonderkid Lazar Markovic is rumoured to be a possible alternative for Liverpool, whose blistering start to the transfer window mirrors their efforts in the Premier League this season.

Spurs eye rub of the Green

Given Mauricio Pochettino's penchant for quick and skilful forwards, talk of Bayern Munich's Julian Green joining Tottenham makes an awful lot of sense to Transfer Talk.

The 18-year-old is yet to make the breakthrough at Bayern, but earned a place in the United States' World Cup squad after hitting 15 goals in 23 appearances for the Bundesliga club's reserve team.

The Metro claims that Green is a 5-million-pound target for Spurs, although a loan move may also be a possibility for Jurgen Klinsmann's wildcard.

Lukaku chase heats up

Despite being firmly focused on the World Cup -- notching four goals in Belgium's last two friendlies -- Romelu Lukaku is the subject of intense speculation in the papers.

With Chelsea close to sealing a deal for Diego Costa, it looks like Lukaku is set to leave Stamford Bridge, with Atletico Madrid one of several potential destinations.

The Daily Star reports that Everton and Tottenham hope to keep the striker in the Premier League, while Valencia are also tracking the 21-year-old, who scored 15 goals in 31 appearances this season.

Keepy-uppies

- According to The Mirror, Porto defender Eliaquim Mangala has turned his nose up at a move to Manchester City and would prefer to join the Blues' bitter rivals Manchester United. The 23-year-old is also a target for Chelsea and will decide his future after representing France at the World Cup.

- West Ham are closing in on a deal for Nice left-back Timothee Kolodziejczak, claims the Daily Mail. The Hammers will have to shell out 3 million pounds for the 22-year-old but should make that back from the cost of the lettering for fans get 'Kolodziejczak' on the back of their shirts.

- Fabio Borini wants to stay at Liverpool despite dropping further down the pecking order following Rickie Lambert's switch to Anfield. The 23-year-old spent the last year on loan at Sunderland but is confident he can still prove himself at Liverpool.

- QPR are keen on a 2-million-pound move for Southampton centre-back Jose Fonte. The 30-year-old has just a year left on his contract and could be joined by Swansea's Ashley Williams at Loftus Road.
