Real Madrid Castilla boss Zinedine Zidane: Coaching my 'new battle'

The ESPN FC team debate Real Madrid manager Rafa Benitez's decision to revert to the team's old format against Getafe.

Zinedine Zidane not looking to replace Rafa Benitez as Real Madrid boss

The ESPN FC crew discuss who should shoulder the blame for their poor performance, and eventual loss, against Barcelona.
Former Real Madrid midfielder Santiago Solari and ESPN FC's Dan Thomas and Side Lowe analyse the fallout from El Clasico.

Zinedine Zidane has cooled speculation he could replace Rafa Benitez as Real Madrid boss following the 4-0 home defeat to Barcelona at the weekend.

Both Benitez and club president Florentino Perez have come under pressure in the local media after the Clasico, and Marca has reported that only five or six players want the coach to stay.

Real Madrid Castilla coach Zidane -- long touted as a future boss of the senior team -- has been suggested as an obvious replacement for Benitez, but the former France...

Real Madrid Castilla loan keeper Carlos Abad-Hernandez from Tenerife

Real Madrid Castilla have signed Spanish goalkeeper Carlos Abad-Hernandez on loan from CD Tenerife for the next two seasons.

Abad-Hernandez will work under coach Zinedine Zidane with Real's B side and play in Spain's Segunda Division B this season.

The 20-year-old, who has drawn comparisons with former Real keeper Iker Casillas, was promoted to Tenerife's first team last season, making nine appearances in the Segunda Division as Roberto's understudy.

Carlos Abad-Hernandez will play under Real Madrid Castilla coach Zinedine Zidane.

Real Madrid disbanding C team will have repercussions for development

Zinedine Zidane's Castilla team will be the only in-between stage from Real Madrid's academy to the first team.

Real Madrid's talented youngsters suffered a double blow on Saturday. Not only did the club's Juvenil A team, the under-19s, suffer defeat in the Copa del Rey youth final against their Rayo Vallecano counterparts, but many were left with worries over their immediate futures.

The next step on a very high and tricky Real Madrid ladder is, or was, Real Madrid C. That step is set to be scrapped this summer, though, as president Florentino Perez looks to overhaul the youth setup, which will also see...
