Jaap Stam: Promotion 'would be one of my biggest achievements'

Reading goalkeeper Ali Al-Habsi says his side is ready to face Huddersfield in the fight for a place in the Premier League.

Jaap Stam says taking Reading to the Premier League would rival winning the Treble with Manchester United.

As a centre-half Stam was part of the all-conquering United side which won the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League in 1999.

Now the 44-year-old stands on the brink of guiding Reading to the top flight in his first season as a manager.

Chinese investors Dai Yongge and Dai Xiu Li complete takeover of Reading

Jaap Stam is the manager of Championship side Reading.

Reading have confirmed that the EFL has granted approval for Chinese brother and sister Dai Yongge and Dai Xiu Li to take a majority share in the club.

The investors had been linked with a takeover of Hull in August 2016 but will now be majority shareholders in Reading, despite reported concerns from the Premier League.

Reading, who previously had Thai ownership, could be playing in the Premier League next season after they reached the Championship playoff final with a 2-1 aggregate win over Fulham...

Fulham and teenage star Ryan Sessegnon's quest to reach the Premier League ended on Tuesday.

Fulham manager Slavisa Jokanovic said the better team lost as his club crashed out of the Championship promotion playoffs on Tuesday night.
