Ralph Hasenhuttl turns down new Ingolstadt deal amid RB Leipzig links

Ralph Hasenhuttl is being linked with a switch to promotion hopefuls RB Leipzig.

Ingolstadt coach Ralph Hasenhuttl has turned down the Bundesliga club's offer of a new contract, increasing the chances of him moving on this summer.

Thomas Linke, director of sport at the Bavarian club, confirmed at a news conference on Tuesday that Hasenhuttl had rejected an offer to extend his contract, which still has a year left to run on it, while admitting that another club has made an approach for him.

That club is reported to be RB Leipzig, who are on course for promotion to the top flight.

German champions Bayern Munich were second behind Schalke in fees paid to agents.

BERLIN -- Schalke spent more on fees for players' agents than any other club in Germany over the last two transfer periods, according to figures released on Monday.

Schalke, who are are currently seventh in the Bundesliga, paid agents €16.9 million between March 15, 2015, and March 15, 2016, said the German Football Federation (DFB) and German Football League (DFL), who revealed figures for the first time to comply with new FIFA regulations.
