The German FA (DFB) has said it will not investigate the dive by Timo Werner that won RB Leipzig a penalty in their 2-1 win over Schalke on Saturday.

Werner went to ground as he touched the ball past Schalke goalkeeper Ralf Fahrmann, who was incredulous to see referee Bastian Dankert point to the spot and then book him for a foul.

But the head of the DFB control committee, Anton Nachreiner, told kicker the organisation would not look into the incident further and added: "It was a referee's decision."

RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner has apologised for the dive that earned his side a penalty in the first minute of their 2-1 win over Schalke on Saturday.
