Barcelona condemn fan violence before Rayo Vallecano match

Barcelona have condemned incidents which saw supporters of the La Liga leaders clash with Rayo Vallecano fans before Saturday's league match between the two sides.

Fighting broke out in Vallecas, a district of Madrid, in the build-up to Saturday's game between the clubs' renowned ultra groups -- Barca's Boixos Nois and Rayo's Bukaneros.

According to multiple local media reports, three supporters obtained minor injuries and have since been taken hospital.

Rayo Vallecano earn La Liga promotion with victory over Lugo

MADRID -- Rayo Vallecano earned promotion to Spain's top division after beating Lugo 1-0 on Sunday.

Alex Moreno's goal for the hosts in the 40th minute sealed Rayo's return to La Liga after two seasons in the Spanish second division.

Huesca had already secured promotion last weekend with a 2-0 victory at Lugo.

The third team to move up will be the winner of a two-round playoff between the four teams that finish the season from third to sixth.
